Consignment Board

Let us do the work of selling your horse for you! CMS offers an affordable consignment service, for a limited number of pre-qualified horses
  • Evaluation - We will evaluate your horse for you for a flat fee of $100 plus pro rated boarding costs (click here for Facilites page). This process usually takes about a week. We will determine if your horse is appropriate for our sales program and assess your horse for soundness, and suitability for many different jobs.
  • Decisions - At the end of the evaluation period we will sit down with you, agree to consignment terms, board type and asking price for your horse. After that, it is all up to us!
  • Advertising - We take pictures of the horse, produce a video, and advertise. We primarily advertise through websites, journals, newspapers, and other publications. We also let our extensive list of clients know that the horse is available, through email, and by making phone calls. The whole process usually takes about 4-12 weeks, depending on the horse and situation.

  • Showing - If you are selling a show horse or a potential show horse, and you would like your horse to be shown, ask us about showing options. Horse shows (click here for Horse Shows page) are great opportunities to promote your horse and get the horse out for potential buyers to see.

    Our sale horses get excellent homes, we have many repeat clients, and we regularly get updates on many of the horses that we have sold in the past.

Want to get noticed? Available for on-farm half lease. Gandalf the Gray is a handsome 17hh, 12 yr old, Hanoverian/Percheron cross gelding. He has three comfortable gaits and a smooth jump. Consistently jumping 2’6”-3’ and very brave to the fences. Will jump 3' and bigger and get swaps with more advanced rider. He is big, fun, and a favorite among our students and IEA riders. He won several year end ribbons last year and always gets compliments wherever he goes. Gandalf has also done some natural horsemanship training and really responded well. Owner is looking for someone to ride him 3 days a week and horse show. Weekly lessons required. No up front lease fee! Just a flat fee of $750 per month (1 year lease). Brady- Wonderful 2'6 horse available for lease

Touchdown (aka Brady) is a handsome 9 yr old, 16.2h, Hanoverian cross gelding. Successfully shown in equitation and hunters this summer at Saddle Rowe, Northeast Benefit, and Northampton. Brady is very consistent, uncomplicated, moves nicely off the leg, and has auto changes. Brady is the same ride at home or at shows, inside or outside. He is good on the trails and has done some low level eventing. Easy to trailer, clip, braid, etc. He has a very sweet personality and is an absolute pleasure to have in the barn. May consider selling to right home.

Successfully shown by a short stirrup rider at local and rated shows (Saddle Rowe, Fieldstone, Northeast Benefit, Northampton Classic) and picked up several ribbons at HITS this summer in the 2', 2'3, and 2'6 divisions (her first week-long show ever!).
