Century Mill is owned and operated by Jai Smith-Rezac. Jai has over 30 years of experience teaching students of all levels in hunters, jumpers, equitation, dressage and eventing. She has trained with countless top trainers of all disciplines and enjoys passing that knowledge on to her students and bringing them to the highest levels of their chosen sport. Her positive and supportive teaching style allows her to specialize in bringing along the more timid rider and help people who feel as though they have reached a plateau. Jai works very closely with the other trainers at CMS, as well as other local professionals, helping them further develop their own professional riding careers by sharing her years of equestrian knowledge and horsemanship skills. More recently, Jai has delved further into the importation business and our fabulous CMS Imports have gone on to successfully show and win at top shows around the Country. Jai’s eye for European Warmbloods, paired with top training and great students, have helped her create countless successful partnerships. In the winters you will find Jai at WEC in Ocala, Florida with the sales team.
Becky runs the show here at CMS as our Manager, and we couldn't ask for anything better! She is a graduate of UMASS Amherst and has a degree in Natural Resource studies and Geology. Becky has been riding for over 20 years, many of them at Century Mill! Becky and her current partner CMS Talisman are competing in the Performance Hunters as well as the big derbies and were recently Zone 1 Reserve Champion, WEC Winter Circuit 2022 Reserve Champion, and New England Champion for the Performance Hunters. She also enjoys bringing along our young imported warmbloods in the show ring. Her meticulous attention to detail and loving care of all of our equine friends at Century Mill are an enormous asset to our training center.
Liz trains and coaches many of our show crew here at CMS and is also head coach of our fantastic IEA team and Brandeis University’s IHSA. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Findlay in OH, with degrees in Equine Science and Equine Business Management. Liz has shown in the Hunters and Equitation, and was IHSA National Champion in 2004. Liz 's patient and supportive teaching style have fit perfectly with her role as Program Director, IEA Coach, and IHSA coach.
"Riding has always been my passion and when I had to take a break to start my family, it was the trainers of Century Mill Stables that helped me get back in the saddle and eventually back in the show ring. I have been with CMS for five years and since this time, I have leased and now purchased a horse of my own thanks in large part to Jai, becky, and Liz. Their continued guidance an encouragement has put me on the path for success and achieve goals I have only been able to dream about. My daughter now rides at CMS and is competing successfully in the leadline division."
